Real Estate Tax Collection Information

Real Estate Tax Payment Information:

When mailing tax payments, mail your payment and coupon to the following address:

Make checks payable to "Athens Area School District"

DO NOT MAIL CASH. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT TO THE DISTRICT BUSINESS OFFICE.

Please be sure that the check amount is equal to the coupon amount. Include the appropriate payment coupon with your check (i.e., full payment or installment coupon 1, 2, or 3).

To be eligible to receive the 2% discount:

Payment must be made in full by 8/31

To be eligible for the installment plan:

1st installment must be paid by 08/31
2nd installment must be paid by 9/30
3rd installment must be paid by 10/31

Once you commit to the installment plan you will forfeit the 2% discount even if paid in full by 8/31.

November 1^st, a 10% penalty will be added to the any remaining balance of the tax bill. If you would like a receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment.

Tax bills will NOT be sent to your mortgage company. You should make a copy of your bill for your records and forward the entire original bill to your mortgage company.
