Greetings SRU family!
Welcome back for another great school year ahead! My name is Jordan Collum and I am thrilled to be back for another year serving as the SRU Elementary Principal where we take pride in being that #smallschoolbigimpact. I have served in education for over a decade and I’m excited to return for another year where we look to continue to build the foundations for success for our young scholars. I believe it is essential to build a foundation for our students that focuses on safety, connection, regulation, stress management, and building executive functioning skills that enable our learners to become better learners and more resilient to life’s challenges.
At SRU, we firmly believe that a positive and engaged community of parents/guardians, students, and educators forms the foundation for a successful learning experience. We ask that you guide and support your child's learning by ensuring that he/she:
Arrives to school on time every day
Eats breakfast at home or at school every day
Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
Informs you of what’s going on at school by showing you their take-home folder and agenda book daily
Communicate any struggles they may be having at school
I look forward to working together this upcoming school year to continue SRU on a path toward providing our students the opportunity to reach their full potential, while making a difference in the world.
