The first annual Book Madness Tournament kicks off in February at Harlan Rowe Middle School. The goal of the tournament is to expose sixth grade English Language Arts students to a variety of age-appropriate novels. Each Friday students in Mrs. Wayman and Ms. Harkness’ classes will be read the first few chapters of two different novels. Students will use Schoology to cast a vote for the book they like best, and the book with the most votes will advance through the tournament bracket. In addition to the quick vote, students will discuss their choices and justify their positions. The favorite novel from Mrs. Wayman’s and Ms. Harkness’ ELA classes will meet in March for the finals, we can’t wait to see which book the champion will be!
