Effective February 25, 2022, The CDC does not require the wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs.
In line with the new guidance, beginning on Monday, February 28th, 2022, the Athens Area School district will no longer require face coverings on school transportation. This change will align with the current Health & Safety plan for school buildings which states, the wearing of face coverings is optional.
