    Questions on the final exam include but are not limited to the following:CHARACTERS: Who were they? What was their significance in the novel?

    Ackley, Allie, D.B., Ed Banky, Faith Cavendish, Holden Caulfield, James Castle, Jane Gallagher, Mr. Antolini, Mr. Spencer, Phoebe, Sally Hayes, Stradlater, Sunny

    PLACES: Where are they? What is their significance to the novel?

    Central Park Pond, Edmont Hotel, Elkton Hill, Ernie’s, Grand Central Station, Hollywood, Museum of Natural History, Pencey Prep, Radio City

    OBJECTS: What is the significance or symbolism of these in the novel?

    baseball glove, checkers, ducks, Ed Banky’s car, hunting cap, ice skates, suitcases, typewriter  

    12th - WORLD LITERATURE

     Vocabulary – modeled after the review quizzes; based on the review list

    Readings Cultural Connections through Critical Analysis taken from Units 3 (Africa) , 4 (The Middle East & South Asia), & 5 (East Asia & the Pacific Rim) will provide support for an analysis on the following constructs:

    ü  control  of government vs. rights of people

    ü  traditional values vs. modern values

    ü  gender roles – male vs. female

    ü  family relationships vs. friendships.

     You will be identifying the attitude toward the construct, the region where the selection focuses, specific supports and details to validate the attitude the selection portrays, and, finally, a comparison to our American culture.  Your examples must be thorough, and specific.  You may only use a selection ONCE; choose wisely. Which of our many reading selections BEST exemplifies the construct listed above.

    The essay component will be given to you NEXT Tuesday, May 29th and due Friday, June 1.  You will have time in class to complete this portion of the final exam.
