Family Reading Night

S.R.U.'s Family Reading Night will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012.  This event will be held at the Sayre Theater.  All participating students and their parent will need to arrive at the theater by 5:45 pm for movie admission.  We will be watching The Hunger Games together at 6:45 pm.  This Book to Movie Night is the culminating event of our book club meetings that have been happening at lunch since February.  Congratulations to all of our participating tributes and their families!

If you are interested in strengthening your child's literacy skills at home but need some ideas and support, PLEASE contact me so I can meet with you and help out!

This year students will be scheduled for small reading classes in addition to their language arts class.  In my classroom students will have the opportunity to strengthen reading comprehension skills and vocabulary skills.  The work we do should transfer to other academic areas to help your child be more confident in their reading abilities.  But remember, the best way to become a better reader is to practice, so be sure to READ, READ, READ!
