Hard to believe that we have just finished our first month of Kindergarten!!! It has been a very busy month. We have learned about the life cycle of butterflies, celebrated Johnny Appleseed's Birthday with making some yummy applesauce!

Day 3: Computer
Day 4: Music
Day 5: Library
Day 6: Art
When your child comes in the morning he or she have jobs they are responsible for:
*put coat, backpack, lunchpail in locker
*put folder on table
*fill waterbottle
*get out pencilbox and begin bellringer
We start our day as a whole group at 8:30 . At this time we say the pledge and sing 2 songs.
We do many calendar activities which include learning days of the week, months, the year, and many counting activities
The rest of our morning consists of Reading, centers/small group reading, and some sort of writing activity. We do Kid-Writing every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday staring Oct. 6th.
In the afternoon we have a story and art project and then more math. We also have our specials in the afternoon.
As you can see we have a very busy day! This might explain why your child might be tired at night! :)
In October we will be exploring Fall and leaves, Christopher Columbus, Fire Safety, Life cycle of pumpkins, and of course Halloween!
We will be carving pumpkins the week before Halloween and are in need of 4 pumpkins (one for each table).
My favorite October activity that we will be doing is pumpkin pancakes!!! YUM! YUM!
We will also be taking a trip to the pumpkin farm. More information will follow on this.
Kindergarten will also be going to the Clemens Center on October 19th to see a collection of Eric Carle Stories.
