Habitat Support Unit (HS)
The major purpose of the Habitat Support Unit is to control and regulate water, waste, energy and the internal atmosphere of Marsville, population 30. In addition, an emergency backup system that will sustain life inside the Mars habitat is necessary in case of sudden and unexpected power loss.
The Japanese space program has done extensive research in the area of habitat support systems making them the logical choice to design the Habitat Support Unit.
