Language Arts
Our Language Arts curriculum will be taught using the Journey’s curriculum. Within this curriculum we will do whole group reading and small group reading (on their independent levels). Throughout the year students will read literature from different genres.
Students will also be exposed to new vocabulary, grammar, word studies and writing using the 6 + 1 Trait model.
Math
Our district wide math curriculum is Everyday Math. It is a hands-on approach to math. Through the use of games and educational materials, students will fulfill the requirements set by the State of Pennsylvania.
Homelinks are sent home nightly as practice to the concept taught that day. Parents are encouraged to help their child with homework if needed. SRBs can be brought home to help with homework, and Parent Letters also offer assistance.
Homework must be returned to school the following day!
- To return your math homework each day.
- READ to an adult 20 minutes or more, 4 times a week. Then have the adult sign your reading calendar.
- Parents, read and sign your childs assignment book each night.
