From: Ronald J. Tomalis, Secretary of Education
Regarding: Request to Share FEMA Flood Hotline Information
Since the start of Tropical Storm Lee last week, Commonwealth agencies have been working around-the-clock to assist residents and communities with relief and recovery efforts.
Today, Governor Tom Corbett announced the opening of seven Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs), where residents can go to apply for disaster assistance and meet with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). These centers are located in the following counties: Bradford, Columbia, Dauphin, Lycoming, Luzerne, Sullivan, and Wyoming (addresses are listed below).
In order to make sure every resident is aware of the resources available, I am requesting every school district in a region impacted by the flooding to place the FEMA Flood Hotline phone number 1-800-621-3362 on their district’s website, along with a listing of the DRCs located nearby.
We appreciate your assistance as we work to help those who have been impacted by these recent events.
