WELCOME to FOOD SERVICES AT AASD!  Special food service events include:

Breakfast and Lunch Learners for all pre-K and Kindergarten students - the week of 9/7 - 9/10/2010!  This week only, these students can have a free breakfast and lunch EVERY DAY!  It's our way of letting them get to know the cafeterias!

HOMECOMING PICNICS at all schools on Friday, October 1st!  Rowe, SRU and all Elementary Schools will have LUCKY TRAY DAY, with many chances at each school to win snack coupons!  Students eating that day in the cafeteria at the High School will have a prize drawing for a WILDCAT PRIDE GIFT BASKET!

***To access MY SCHOOL ACCOUNT, click on "cafeteria menus" on this webpage for the link.***  Use your student's Athens ID# for "My School Account" as it is the same as the cafeteria number.  (You can get the student ID # from the school office, the cafeteria managers, or the Food Service Director.)  When you sign up for "My School Account, " you can look at your student's cafeteria activity and can pay on-line. (FSS, the company that manages the "My School Account," charges a small fee for on-line payments, and does not accept debit cards.  This is not run by AASD, but is offered through the cafeteria software company.  If you have problems with the "My School Account, " please contact FSS by email as they prefer at support@myschoolaccount.com).

Cafeteria PAYMENT:  You may pay by cash, check or on-line with credit card at My School Account.  If sending payment to school with your child, please put the payment in a sealed envelope with the child's name, date and amount of payment on the front of the envelope.   When paying by check, put the child's first and last name in the comments section of the check.  You may use one check to pay for mutiple students, but please note the amount to go to each student in the comment area of the check.  Make the check payable to Athens Cafeteria.

Payment for meals must be made WHEN TAKEN OR AHEAD OF TIMEStudents who owe more than $5.00 on their cafeteria account will not be allowed to purchase extra portions or ala carte items, and those above elementary level will be given a cold sandwich (cheese or peanut butter and jelly) as the entree in their cafeteria meal at the cost of the regular meal.

FREE and REDUCED MEAL FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT EVERY YEAR.  YOUR STUDENT'S MEAL STATUS DOES NOT CARRY OVER, SO NEW FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN.  Cafeteria balances, plus and minus both, DO carry over from year to year.  If you have not applied previously for free/reduced meals and think that you may quailify, please request forms, as they can be submitted any time during the year initially  and if your financial situation changes. If your child's meal status has changed from "paid" to free or reduced, you are still responsible for payment of any previous balances (for example, if your child was a "paid meal" student, and owed $58, and is switched to "free meal" status, you must still pay the $58 already owed).

LOOKING FOR A PART TIME JOB FOR SOME SPARE CASH?  NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!  Consider being a cafeteria substitute worker.  Subs work when called and can choose to work or not when called.  Subs make $7.50 an hour.  Most sub "days" are 2 hour or 3 hours shifts.  We are always using subs in our six cafeterias, and when we hire permanent workers, we do so from those who have subbed.  If interested, go to the District Office which is now located at Athens High School. You will need to fill out an application, get child clearances and fingerprints (there is a fee involved).  Contact FSD Alice Bennett with any questions, or the staff at the District Office.
