Young Men’s Choral Festival
The 2015 Athenian is
now on sale until January 16, 2015. The 180 page full color yearbook and
DVD is currently in production by our 10 member staff. The price is
$70.00. Yearbooks can be ordered online at www.yearbookordercenter.com or
at school by sending cash or checks written to
"Athenian". A deposit of $30.00 will reserve your copy. Please
send all checks or cash to Mrs. Reilly at the high school. No extra copies will
be ordered so it is important to meet this deadline.

The team from the Athens Area High School completed the 2014
Twin Tiers Quiz League season on October 29.
Athens went 3-0 in the final match at Horseheads High School and brought
home the gold trophy for the first time since 1991. The team ended with a final record of 8-1 for
the season. Congratulations to the
intelligent and hardworking team from Athens High.

October 31st Rohnin Bishop proudly represented Athens High School at
the 15th annual Young Men’s Choral Festival which was held at
Mansfield University. The festival is an
event which brings 150 boys in 7th, 8th and 9th
grade together for a day of singing. The
boys were required to learn their music ahead of time, and then refined it
during day long rehearsals. They then
presented a concert that afternoon conducted by their guest director, Stephen
Vocalist is going to Districts
October 19, auditions were held for PMEA District 8 chorus. Students prepared a piece of music and then
were required to perform any section of that piece given
only the starting pitch. All Athens
students performed proudly, and one was chosen to attend District chorus.
Reynolds auditioned on Tenor 2 and placed 9th out of 42 students on
his voice part. He will be representing
Athens High School at the District Festival at Shikellamy High School on
January 22-24. Wish him luck as he
prepares for the festival and then auditions again for Regional Chorus. Great job DJ!
